Michael Hippler
Michael tells honest, spiritually grounded stories of struggle and grace. He writes books for people in recovery, in spiritual transition, or seeking God beyond easy answers. His goal is simple: to create work that doesn’t preach or perform—but only walks beside.
Michael is a retired engineer who spent three decades solving manufacturing problems before a different kind of calling found him. Today, he is a postulant for the diaconate in the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio, where he also leads a men's spiritual group and serves as a hospice volunteer. He Reached Down is his first book and the opening volume in a five-part series on spiritual formation published by Fieldstone Books, the imprint he founded for that purpose. He lives in Ohio with his wife, who has read every page of every version of this book more times than either of them can count. He maintains a daily practice of prayer that he will tell you, honestly, he doesn't always keep.
